Its magnificent canyon stretches all the way to Višegrad.
The Drina canyon is one of the deepest in the world, up to 1,000 meters in some parts. Perućac lake is 54 km long and it stretches all the way to Visegrad.

Situated in the east of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on both banks of the River Rzav, on the spot where the river flows into the Drina, lies the town of Višegrad. The town’s greatest attraction is the bridge over the Drina built by Mehmed Pasha Sokolović in 1571, a bridge described in the Nobel prize winning novel The Bridge on the Drina, written by the Serbian novelist Ivo Andrić. In 2014 Andrić Town was opened for visitors in Višegrad, as a visitor, cultural and educational centre based on an idea by film director Emir Kusturica, inspired by the literary characters of Ivo Andrić. Its architecture is a mix of different eras and styles that passed throughout Višegrad history: the Byzantine style, the Ottoman period, the Renaissance and Classicism.
