A first-class tourist event, gathering the entire region of Southeast Europe and other parts of the world, will be held at the Belgrade Fair from 22 to 25 February 2024 The 45th International Tourism Fair. The ITF International Tourism Fair is one of the business pillars of the Belgrade Fair and the entire Serbian tourism industry. With a significant impact on the economy, tourism ranks among the strong drivers of economic growth and development, creating synergy between related sectors and contributing to the overall prosperity of the country. The tourism sector directly and indirectly employs a large number of people, and revenues from tourism increase the country’s gross domestic product, providing stability to the economy.

The Partner Country of the Tourism Fair 2024 is Republic of Greece. Greece and Serbia continue their successful cooperation in the field of tourism through this year’s partnership at the 45th International Tourism Fair, where Greece, by far the most popular market for Serbian citizens vacationing abroad, will be specially presented as the Partner Country. In the pavilion of the National Tourism Organization of Greece, visitors can expect exhibitors from across the country, from regional representatives and tourist organizations from the most popular Greek destinations, to professional associations. During the fair days, visitors will be able to see most diverse and comprehensive offer of accommodation capacities, apartments, and hotels in continental and island resorts in Greece, which is a strong motivator to make a good and economical choice from the first-minute offer available at the fair. This partnership will contribute to further enhancing tourist exchange between the two countries, considering that the number of Greek tourists in Serbia is constantly increasing.

We had opportunity to speak with Mr. George Kakoutis – Director of GNTO in Serbia, about this years Tourism Fair in Serbia. Greece is partner country of this year ITF, tell us more about this year cooperation with tourism fair:

I would like to express my graditude that we are partner country at 45th edition of ITF which is biggest event of its kind in south-east Europe, this also shows that Serbian travel market has a great importance for Greek tourism, especially in the northern part of Greece. We have many coehibitors and local tourism boards promoting their tourism products to Serbian audience.

Serbian tourists are not new to Greece, what you want to promotethis year, which regions and destinations:

First of all I would like to thank to Serbian tourists as their tourist destination number one is Greece. Serbian tourists are mainly traveling to northern Greece, especially to Halkidiki, Pieria region and Thasos and all our efforts for promotion are focused on new destinations and new thematic products such are gastronomy, wine tourism, cultural tourism and eco tourism. I am inviting Serbian tourists to come to Greece and discover hidden destinations.

Reccomend us 3 destinations in Greece that can be ,,hidden places,, that tourists have to discover:

I would like to reccomend region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Pilion and Peloponnese. Those destinations offers unique opportunities and they have amazing cultural tourism, nature and of course spectacular beaches.
